Brazoria County Emergency Services District 3 EMS

The Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3, EMS Division provides emergency medical services to the cities of Manvel, Iowa Colony, and surrounding areas. Brazoria County ESD 3 EMS is licensed by the Texas Department of Health as basic life support, mobile intensive care unit capable. The EMS Division operates three EMS stations in Manvel, Lakes of Savannah and in Iowa Colony which are staffed twenty-four hours a day.
The EMS Division operates a fleet of five ambulances, three of which are frontline units and two of which are reserve units. The reserve units are used for maintenance back up and for special event coverage. In addition to the ambulances the Division operates an emergency response vehicle which is used by the on-duty supervisor to respond to high acuity calls.
We have a staff of twenty-eight employees who serve our community. Our staffing is comprised of clinicians who are Paramedics, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Technicians and an administrative assistant. Medical Direction is under the authority of our Medical Director, Scott Wiesenborn, M.D. who is board certified in Emergency Medicine.
Our clinicians have an expanded Scope of Care and are able to provide cutting-edge emergency medical care. We were the first EMS service in Brazoria county to be able to provide blood products to patients who are in hemorrhagic shock.
