Summer Heat is No Joke

The A/C works great in our ambulance… but we don’t want you to have to test it.

Summer heat is no joke, and heat exhaustion can sneak up fast. As temperatures climb, please take a few extra steps to protect yourself, your kids, your coworkers, and your neighbors.

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including:

  •  Heavy sweating
  • Dizziness or weakness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Muscle cramps
  • Cool, pale, or clammy skin
  • Fast or weak pulse

If someone is showing these signs, move them to a cooler place, give small sips of water if they are alert, and help them cool down. If symptoms worsen, they become confused, or you are concerned it may be an emergency, call 911.

Stay hydrated, take breaks, check on elderly neighbors, and never leave kids or pets in a vehicle. Heat exhaustion is real — and prevention is always better than an ambulance ride.
