Brazoria County ESD No. 3 Opens Station in Iowa Colony

On Saturday, December 2, 2023, Brazoria County Emergency Services District celebrated the opening of a new Fire/EMS Station in Iowa Colony. The new station will house Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3 Emergency Medical Services as well as the Iowa Colony Volunteer Fire Department.

 

The 12,500 square foot station was constructed on a 1.56-acre tract of land. It includes three pull through apparatus bays and living quarters for both the EMS staff and the Volunteers for Iowa Colony VFD. 

 

“We are excited to provide the community with this new station, allowing for faster response times and additional opportunities for collaboration between the agencies. Brazoria County Emergency Services District is continuously working to provide the highest level of service while meeting the needs of the fast-growing communities we serve,” said Jeff Braun, Executive Director of BCESD3.

 

The BCESD3 EMS crew began staffing the facility on Monday, December 4, 2023, and the Iowa Colony Volunteer will begin operations from the new facility prior to December 15, 2023.

 

The celebration of the opening was held in conjunction with the City of Iowa Colony who opened their new City Hall and Police Department next door to the station. The event included Santa and Mrs. Claus, photos, cupcakes, and cocoa. BJ’s Brewhouse in Pearland generously provided pizza and sliders for the occasion.

 

Brazoria County Emergency Services District No. 3 is the political subdivision of the State of Texas, created by the voters to fund fire protection and emergency medical services. The District provides Emergency Medical Service and Fire Suppression to 650 square miles, serving a population of over 86,000. The district includes 4 Emergency Medical Service providers and 9 volunteer and municipal Fire Departments.
